Martin Savransky, Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Director of the Unit of Play, Goldsmiths College, University of London.
Working in the interstices between philosophy, cultural studies, and the social sciences, Savransky's research interests include political ecology, political ontology, pragmatism, radical pluralism, postcolonial thought, speculative practices, and methodologies of living and dying on unstable ecological terrain. He is the author of Around the Day in Eighty Worlds: Politics of the Pluriverse (Duke University Press, 2021) and of The Adventure of Relevance: An Ethics of Social Inquiry (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016).
Pragmatism Working Group: Over the next two semesters, the working group will be continuing with a series tracking the uptake of Whiteheadian ideas in speculative philosophy.
