(Readings will be selections from Flores's Backroads Pragmatism: Mexico's Melting Pot and Civil Rights in the United States and John Dewey's Reconstruction in Philosophy)

Ruben Flores- Ruben Flores is associate professor of history at the University of Rochester. He is an intellectual and cultural historian from El Paso, Texas with special interests in the role of science in modern life and the tensions of modern American democracy.
