Join three leaders of the European Research Network for Argumentation and Public Policy Analysis to discuss the prospects for argument– making and criticizing reasons – in the contemporary public. The discussion will explore some of the main challenges and instances of contemporary public argumentation, including those of environmental discourses, disinformation, the crisis of expertise and its epistemic discontents, the challenges of polylogue, and the potential for argumentative design. The session will also consider the aims and methods of the CostAction17132 APPLY Network (publicpolicyargument.eu) to catalyze research in environmental humanities and innovations in science and environmental communication.
