Art and Aesthetics working group meeting

From: Tuesday, February 11, 2020, 11:00am

To: Tuesday, February 11, 2020, 01:00pm

The next meeting of the Art and Aesthetics working group will take place a week from today: Tuesday February 11th, from 11 AM to 1 PM, in the philosophy department's glamorous 'flexspace', on the 5th floor of the Gateway Building (above the Barnes & Noble by the train station).  Continuing our theme of artworks that query or insist on objecthood, we'll be reading Arthur Danto's 'The Artworld', plus Richard Wollheim's short piece 'Danto's Gallery of Indiscernables'.  Both are available here:

Everyone is very welcome, including (especially) those who have not attended previously, but are interested in exploring our broader theme of disciplinary convergences and divergences around questions of artistic form, expression, and reception, as well as the cognitive, affective, and broadly psychological phenomena entailed in artistic experience.
