Social Text

Founded in 1979 by an independent collective of New York-based scholars, and housed for many years at the CCA, the journal Social Text is a daring and controversial leader in the field of cultural studies. Covering a broad spectrum of social and cultural phenomena, applying the latest interpretive methods to the world at large, Social Text consistently focuses attention on questions of gender, sexuality, race, and the environment. Each issue aims to break new ground in the debates about postcolonialism, postmodernism, and popular culture.
